Pretreatment with SS decreased lipid peroxides (A), increased GSH (B) levels, and reduced levels of inflammatory cytokines NO (C), TNF-α (D), IL-1β (E), and IL-6 (F) in paracetamol-treated mice. SS was orally administered to mice for 6 days, with the last dose 1 h before paracetamol administration. GSH was determined and expressed as μmol/g liver tissue. Nitrite concentration in the serum was determined using Griess reagent. Serum concentrations of TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6 were determined using commercial ELISA kits.
