In (a-c), we show slices from the 3D volume reconstructed by Adorym: (a) shows the horizontal cross section cut at slice 400, and (b, c) show the cross sections cut from locations indicated by the green dashed lines. In (d), we show the same slice as in (a) but reconstructed using conventional filtered backprojection (FBP), exhibiting much lower contrast. The histogram of the Adorym reconstruction slice (a), and the filtered backprojection slice (d), are shown in (e) and (f) respectively; they indicate that Adorym better represents the density differences between different features in the sample. In (g), we show the memory profile during 10 minibatches of Adorym reconstruction.
