Claudin-5 expression is decreased in ubiquitin carboxyl terminal hydrolase 1 (UCHL1)-silenced ECs. A: Western blotting of UCHL1-silenced ECs (100 nM, 3 days) demonstrated decreased claudin-5 expression levels compared with controls transfected with control siRNA (*P > 0.05, n = 3). B: immunofluorescence of UCHL1-silenced ECs revealed decreased claudin-5 specifically localized at the cell membrane compared with controls.
