The hydroxyl radical scavenging capability of extracts of different Garcinia species. The extracts were supplemented with FeSO4.7H2O, salicylic acid, and H2O2, followed by being mixed and incubated at 37°C for 30 mins before applied onto a spectrophotometer to measure the absorbance at 562 nm. Ascorbic acid was used as a positive control and 0.1 mM DMSO was used as a negative control.
