Intraepidermal nerve fibers (IENFs) were identified in the glabrous hind-paw skin with an anti–PGP 9.5 antibody (A). The number of IENFs crossing from the dermis to the epidermis was decreased following transfer of FMS IgG compared with HC IgG 14 days after the first injection (B) (pooled, 8 mg per day for 4 consecutive days).
