Histological scores of the knee joint from the diabetes-osteoarthritis (DM-OA) group, osteoarthritis (OA) group, and sham group at 4, 8, and 12 weeks postoperatively, as determined using the Osteoarthritis Research Society International (OARSI) scoring system. Grading of OA using the OARSI scale showed a statistically significant OA progression in the DM-OA group compared to the OA and sham groups. The data were expressed as the mean ± SD and were compared using ANOVA and the Student-Newman-Keuls post-hoc test between the groups. *, P<0.05 was considered significant.
