Features of pulmonary metastases in OS
Features likely indicative of metastases:
  •  Multiple nodules (especially >7)

  •  Nodule size >5 mm (>6 mm specificity ~90%;>13 mm specificity 100%)

  •  Nodule calcification (~60 vs 12% in benign nodules)

  •  Change in number or size of nodules after chemotherapy

Features likely indicative of benign nodules:
  •  Single nodule (~70% non-metastatic)

  •  Nodule size <5 mm (~70% non-metastatic)

  •  Subpleural location

  •  No change in size or number after chemotherapy
