Intracellular redox status in barrel cortex. Reduced and oxidized glutathione (GSH and GSSG, respectively) were measured in barrel cortex using HPLC–electrochemical detection. The GSH/GSSG ratio was calculated to indicate redox state with lower ratios indicating increased oxidative stress. rmTBI increased oxidative stress at 1- and 6-week postinjury.
