The basic guide (gray) is placed in its specific position (A and B). In the preoperative planning, the trochanteric ridge and the specific circumference of the femoral shaft were used as characteristic landmarks to integrate them in the undersurface of the guide to find its unique position. The inserted reference pins were planned in an orientation that they correspond to the screw position for later plate fixation (C and D)
