The effects of senktide administered centrally for four days on NK3R, DYN and KOR-1 protein expressions in the MBH. Western blots of all three proteins were assessed from animals that received either a daily third ventricular (3V) injection of saline or senktide (gels not shown). Each of the above proteins were normalized to β-actin protein. The bars presented represent the mean ± SEM of the densitometric quantification of all bands assessing A) NK3R, B) DYN and C) KOR-1 proteins. Note that senktide-induced an increase in NK3R protein expression, but it suppressed DYN and KOR-1 protein expressions over the levels of their respective saline controls.
