Global screening of target genes in lung cancer subtypes. Gene expressions with more than two‐fold up‐ or down‐changes (A–D), alterations of target gene clusters (E–H), signaling pathways (I–L), and biological functions (M–P) in patients with lung adenocarcinoma (ADC), squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), large cell carcinoma (LCC), and small‐cell lung carcinoma (SCLC). Poor prognosis was associated with high expression of OPN gene (SPP1) in patients with ADC (Q) or SCC (R). Values among different lung cancer subtypes were statistically compared by Student's t‐test and Mann–Whitney U‐test. The associations between clinical phenomes and OPN expression were examined with χ 2 tests. The cumulative survival time was calculated by the Kaplan–Meier method and analyzed by the log‐rank test
