Effect of diabetes on Rac1 promoter histone modifications in mouse retinal microvessels. Retinal microvessels from Stz-induced diabetic mice (Diab) and their age-matched normal mice (Norm) were analyzed for (a) H3K9me3, (b) H3K9me2 and (c) Suv39H1 at Rac1 promoter by ChIP technique. (d) 5hmC levels at Rac1 promoter were quantified by immunoprecipitating 5hmC in the genomic DNA. Normal rabbit IgG (^) was used as an antibody control. Each measurement was made in duplicate in 5–7 mice in each group. *p < 0.05 compared to normal.
