Half-maximal inhibitory concentrations (IC50) values of doxorubicin against HCC cells in different microenvironments. HCC cells have stiffness and oxygen-dependent resistance/sensitivity to 24-hour doxorubicin treatment. Cirrhosis and hypoxia altered IC50 findings differently among the HCC cell lines. 3D-normal: 4 mg/ml collagen gel, 3D-Cirrhosis: 7 mg/ml collagen gel.
