Figure 9.

Figure 9 is a heat map plotting the overall confidence and suitability for dose response analysis for all of the included studies, organized by health system. Human studies rated medium confidence were suitable, had limited suitability, or were not suitable for dose-response analysis; human studies rated low confidence had limited suitability or were not suitable for dose-response analysis; animal studies rated high confidence were suitable for dose-response analysis; animal studies rated medium confidence were suitable or not suitable for dose-response analysis; and animal studies rated low confidence were suitable or had limited suitability for dose-response analysis. The number of studies is shown for each health system, including nasal, pulmonary, hematological, immunological, reproductive, developmental, and ocular. The final column shows the grand total for each health system and overall grand total. Below, on the bottom left, a scale is depicting number of references, ranging from 1 to 8 in increment.

Visualization of the overall confidence ratings (high, medium, low) and suitability for dose–response analysis (suitable, limited suitability, not suitable) within each health system for the studies presented in Tables 27. See Tables 27 for details. Numbers represent the number of distinct references that investigated a particular health system, not the number that identified a positive association with exposure to naphthalene. The grand total column indicates the total number of human and animal references for each health system.
