Controls included gender, race/ethnicity, maternal education, income-to-needs ratio, and geographic location. The adjusted R² for the ideological conservativism model was .14, F(24, 893) = 4.47, p < .001. The adjusted R² for the Republican Party affiliation model was .09, F(24, 995) = 3.60, p < .001. The adjusted R² for the Democratic Party affiliation model was .13, F(24, 997) = 5.02, p < .001.
