Controls included gender, race/ethnicity, maternal education, income-to-needs ratio, and geographic location. The adjusted R² for the ideological conservativism model was .13, F(24, 894) = 4.11, p < .001. The adjusted R² for the Republican Party affiliation model was .09, F(24, 986) = 3.27, p < .001.
