Tubule segments marker AQP1 indicates the proximal tubule cells (b), AQP2 indicates the cortical and medullary collecting duct (e) and PNA indicates the distal tubule cells (h). Renin can be clearly seen in the juxtaglomerular apparatus (JGA, *indicates glomeruli) and blood vessels (#) clearly distinguishable from the low level autofluorescence in the renal tubules consistent with that previously described⁵⁸. Arrows indicate positive staining and scale bar = 100 µm for all images.
