Figure 5.

Relative protein abundance of insulin receptor β subunit (INSR-β), aromatase, protein kinase B (AKT), and forkhead box ortholog 1 (FOXO1) in visceral (v) white adipose tissue (WAT) of placebo and testosterone-treated females (Test-treated). INSR-β subunit and aromatase (A); phosphorylated(Ser473) AKT (pAKTSer473) and total AKT (B); phosphorylated(Ser256) FOXO1 (pFOXO1Ser256) and total FOXO1 (C). An unpaired t test was used for statistical analysis between treatment groups for each protein of interest. For INSR-β subunit and aromatase, n = 3 for testosterone-treated females and n = 4 for placebo females. For AKT and FOXO1, n = 5 for testosterone-treated females and n = 6 for placebo females. Western blotting was conducted on tissues collected at D13 of treatment. #0.05 < P ≤ 0.10.
