Increase of elder abuse prevalence during the COVID-19 pandemic^a. ^aElder abuse prevalence before the COVID-19 pandemic was based on two U.S. population-based, nationally-representative studies: The National Elder Mistreatment Study (NEMS), and The National Social Life, Health, and Aging Project (NSHAP). Prevalence of elder abuse during the COVID-19 was based on results in this study, with data collected from April 23 and May 5, 2020. *Two-tailed χ² analysis conducted for significant testing, with significant level defined as p-value < 0.001.
