Experimental procedure. Sixty-two participants took part in the EEG experiment. Data from 40 participants were used to perform exploratory analyses. The resulting data (20 participants) were used to confirm our results. For the decoding analyses, five new participants took part in a separate experiment to characterize multivariate EEG activity patterns for the different object categories.
