Volume/atom as a function of pressure for selected dDAC compression ramps on Bi samples loaded with Ne. Data from fast and slow dDAC compressions of both Bi foil and powder samples are compared with the results from static compression experiments on Bi powder and foil samples loaded in Ne from Fig. 1. The inset shows an enlargement of the ramp data in the vicinity of the Bi-III/Bi-V transition to highlight the different transition pressures. The pressure was estimated from the Au pressure standard as described in the text.
