In clinically ill animals, the vast majority of symptomatic cases presented mild clinical signs (green area). Approximately one third of the symptomatic animals showed medical complications of major clinical relevance (yellow area). A smaller percentage of animals (red area) eventually died after being diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection: four of those had underlying health problems—which is why SARS-CoV-2 was considered incidental rather than a cause of death—and the remaining two were euthanized due to worsening of their clinical condition.
