p62 regulates and links central pathways in inflammation and cancer development. p62 is an important cargo receptor for autophagy and mitophagy and thus inhibits inflammasome activation and inflammation. Moreover, upon Keap1 binding, p62 activates Nrf2 and attenuates inflammation.
