M: men; PTA = average of hearing thresholds at frequencies (500 Hz, 1000 Hz, 2000 Hz and 4000 Hz); HFA = average of hearing thresholds at frequencies (2000 Hz, 4000 Hz and 8000 Hz); VHFA = average of hearing thresholds at frequencies (8000 Hz, 10,000 Hz, 12,000 Hz, 14,000 Hz and 16,000 Hz).
