Schematic representation of the preparation of the PEGylated DOTAP–DOPE liposomes and lipoplexes. The liposomes, resulting from the hydration of a lipid film composed of DOTAP and DOPE, were incubated with the negatively charged HiLyte 488 labeled ONs to form lipoplexes.
