Figure 6

Effects of different NaCl concentrations on certain OJIP parameters in leaves of sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Shamal) and maize (Zea mays L. Kerala): Vj—relative variable fluorescence at 2 ms (a); Wk—ratio of the K phase to the J phase, which indicates the donation of electrons by the OEC (b); ψo—probability that a trapped exciton transfers as an electron into the electron transport chain beyond QA (c); PIABS—performance index of PSII energy conservation from photons absorbed by PSII to the reduction of intersystem electron acceptors (d). Mean values (±SE) were calculated from 8 independent measurements. Different letters indicate significant differences between different NaCl concentrations for the respective parameters at p < 0.05 (uppercase for sorghum and lowercase for maize).
