Batch cultures of Fe(III) reduction in SPW canga. The concentration of dissolved Fe(II) (A) and total Fe(II) (B) were measured under static conditions over 3 months. Comparisons were made between sterile canga (open circles) or canga inoculated with sub muros material (closed circles), with a basal SPW medium pH of 4.75 (red) or pH 6.8 (blue).
