. Prevalence of diabetes among study patients who did and did not develop DKA. Of the 6.6% of patients in our study who developed DKA, 94% had a known prior diagnosis of DM (overwhelmingly T2D 99.3%). The overall majority of patients did not develop DKA (93.3%) and of these, only 36% had a prior known history of T2D (overwhelmingly T2D 99.5%).
