IDO-1 expression induced by ZIKV infection. (A) Primary culture of cortical-striatal neurons from C57BL/6 mice on D5 were infected with ZIKV (MOI 0.1) and after 48 hours the cells were harvested. (B) Type I interferon receptor deficient mice (A129) were inoculated (i.v) with 4x10³ PFU/200 μL of ZIKV. At day 4 and 5 of infection, the brain was harvested. RNA extraction and subsequent Real time PCR analysis of IDO-1 expression in the brain and neuronal primary culture was done. Results are expressed as mean ± SEM and are representative of two independent experiments. Statistically significant differences were assessed by Mann Whitney test.
