Noninjected, H3.1-, H3.2-, and H3.3-overexpressing (OE) embryos were analyzed for methylation of H3K9me2, H3K9me3, and H3K27me3 at 11 h post-insemination. For H3K9me2 immunostaining, three independent experiments were performed, with the exception of H3.1-overexpressing embryos (two independent experiments). In total, 13–34 embryos were analyzed. For H3K9me3 immunostaining, two independent experiments were performed. 9–14 embryos were observed in total. For H3K27me3 immunostaining, four independent experiments were performed, with the exception of H3.1-overexpressing embryos (three independent experiments); in total, 23–32 embryos were analyzed in each experimental group.
