Primary adipocyte-conditioned media (Ad-CM) modulates airway epithelial cell cytokine secretion and responses to lipopolysaccharide. Mouse-transformed club cells (MTCCs) were treated with Ad-CM from diet-induced lean and obese mice for 24 h and assessed for proinflammatory cytokine secretion (A) and gene expression (B). Twenty-four hours after Ad-CM treatment, MTCCs were challenged with 64 ng/mL lipopolysaccharide (LPS) for further 24 h and supernatants were analyzed by ELISA (C). n = 3–7 mice/group.
