Figure 6

Effects of exendin-4 and DA-CH5 on mitogenesis-related protein expression in 6-OHDA-treated SH-SY5Y cells.

Cells were treated with 350 µM of 6-OHDA with or without 100 nM of exendin-4 or DA-CH5 for 24 hours. (A) Bands of mitogenesis-related proteins. GAPDH was used as the loading control. (B, C) Quantitative results of PGC-1α (B) and NRF-1 (C) expression. All data are represented as the mean ± SD of quadruplicate independent experiments. *P < 0.001, vs. control group (CON); †P < 0.05, †††P < 0.001, vs. 6-OHDA group; §P < 0.05, vs. 6-OHDA + exendin-4 group (one-way analysis of variance followed by Tukey’s multiple comparison test). 6-OHDA: 6-Hydroxydopamine; exendin-4 and DA-CH5: glucagon-like peptide-1/glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide dual receptor agonist; GAPDH: glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase; NRF-1: nuclear respiratory factor 1; PD: Parkinson’s disease; PGC-1α: proliferator-activated receptor-gamma coactivator 1α.
