Note. The sample size for the logistic regressions in the first panel of the table for any medical use or expense of a given type was based on a sample size of 14,724 dentate persons 50 years and older with positive–valued weights in both years they were in the survey. Medical expenditure in the second year the person was in the MEPS were inflated to 2014 by the medical services component of the Consumer Price Index. The reference group for actual use of preventive dental care is none. Other explanatory variables in the equations are the same as in Table 3. All explanatory variables not shown are measured as of the first year the person was in the MEPS.
