Viability of ASCs under normoxic and hypoxic conditions. Cells were cultured in starvation or growth medium at normoxic oxygen levels of 21% O₂ or hypoxic oxygen levels of <1% O₂. Viability of ASCs was measured by Trypan Blue staining and counting in relation to the baseline value at 4 h normoxia, set to one. Graphs display pooled effects of ASCs isolated from patient Group A and B cultured in (A) starvation medium (n = 6) and (B) growth medium (n = 6).
