Schematic Representation of Pinot noir Combined Wine Classification. The combined experimental approach utilized NMR spectroscopy and DS array of phenolics (e.g., flavonoids, tannins). The analytical techniques were combined to discriminate fifteen Pinot noir wines from nine AVAs along the coast of California and Oregon. A combination of multivariate and univariate statistical methods was used to produce a classification model that differentiate wines based on vineyard, AVA region or vintage.
