Summarised national data for the summer Olympic Games, Barcelona 1992,²⁰ Sydney 2000,²⁴ Athens 2004,²⁰ London 2012,²⁶ and Rio de Janeiro 2016,²⁷ as well as state data for Atlanta 1996²² (data for Beijing 2008 were not available). Number of fatal occupational injuries calculated using total labour force data from published sources for Spain (Barcelona 1992)²¹ and the State of Georgia (Atlanta 1996)²³ and from the World Bank²⁵ for all other Olympic Games.
