First set of bars represent the QTc of the treat and discharged (outpatient) cohort compared to the inpatient cohort, followed by patients admitted to the medical unit versus ICU. The QTc was prolonged as a function of severity of disease as indexed by disposition. This remained significant after controlling for: age, gender, body mass index, history of diabetes mellitus, hypertension, premature ventricular contractions, atrial fibrillation/flutter, ventricular tachycardia, QT prolonging medications, potassium level, and QRS duration.
