A 2-sided Fisher exact test was used to determine significant differences in sex and smoking status between CMV positive (n = 65) and CMV negative (n = 22). An unpaired 2-tailed t test was used to determine significant differences in BMI and age between CMV positive and CMV negative populations. P values below .5 were considered significant.
