(a) Effect of different doses of OED on the proliferation of Vero E6 cells after 72 hours of culture. From 100 µL to 300 µL of OED/day, a negligible effect on the extent of growth was observed; however, from 400 µL to 500 µL of OED/day, a cytotoxic effect was indicated. (b) Vero E6 cells were infected with SARS‐CoV‐2 at a multiplicity of infection of 0.05 or 1.0 for one hour at 37°C. Thereafter, the cells were washed and cultured for 48 hours. Viral yield was quantified in the cell supernatant using quantitative reverse‐transcription PCR (qRT‐PCR). At least three independent replicates were tested.
