Progress of hind limb functional recovery was evaluated by BMS scoring. Data are presented as the mean ± SEM (n = 10 in each group at the start of the experiment; n = 5, 7, or 8 survived in the control, 0 dpi or 3 dpi groups, respectively, at 14 dpi and beyond). *P < 0.05, **P < 0.01, vs. control group; #P < 0.05, vs. 0 dpi group (two-way repeated measures analysis of variance followed by Tukey’s post hoc test adjustments).
