Characteristics of the recombinant viruses infecting hepatocytes in vivo and in vitro. (A) Three-week-old SPF chickens were intramuscularly injected with rWT-FAdV4, rHN20, rI188R, and rR188I (n = 10, dose = 104 PFU). The livers were collected, and viral loads were evaluated using TaqMan quantitative real-time PCR at the indicated time points (n = 3). (B) CEL cells were infected with rWT-FAdV4, rHN20, rI188R, and rR188I at an MOI of 0.01. At each indicated time point, the cells were harvested, and the viral loads were analyzed using TaqMan quantitative real-time PCR (n = 3). (C and D) Three-week-old SPF chickens were intravenously injected with rWT-FAdV4, rHN20, rI188R, and rR188I (n = 3, dose = 106 PFU). (C) Viral loads in the blood at different time points. (D) Viral loads in the liver and kidney at 24 h postinjection. Error bars represent the SEM. *, P < 0.05; **, P < 0.01; ***, P < 0.001; ns, not significant.
