Female Kiss1Cre or Kiss1Cre::GnRHGFP mice were injected with AAV1-ChR2-mCh into either the AVPV/PeN or ARH. Brain sections were processed for double-label ICC to enhance the mCherry signal and visualize potential postsynaptic targets of Kiss1 fibers using confocal microscopy. The PVH was divided into the dorsolateral PaLM, ventromedial PaMM, and the medial PV/PaMP regions. GnRH neurons in the rostral forebrain (POA), comprising the DB, MS, POA, and anterior hypothalamus were analyzed. Additionally, the supraoptic nucleus (SON) was also examined. The postsynaptic populations included OT, AVP, and GnRH neurons.
