A schematic diagram highlighting the regulation of the cell differentiation by miR-130a-3p in MSCs. The miR-130a-3p secreted by MSCs directly binds to the 3′UTR of TGF-βRII, thereby down-regulating TGF-βRII and inhibiting the recruitment and activation of TGF-βRI, subsequently, phosphorylation of Smad2/3 is inhibited, and unable to form a complex with Smad4, which translocates to the nucleus to regulate gene transcription.
