Schematic of nanoparticles’ (NPs) fabrication, characterization, and in vivo and ex vivo experiments. A1‐3) Leukosomes (Leuko) were fabricated using membrane protein extracted from cultivated leukocytes. A4) After fabrication, NPs were characterized for their physicochemical and biomimetic properties. B) NPs were tested in vivo using a traumatic brain injury (TBI) mouse model. They demonstrated increased targeting to inflamed organs following TBI, as assessed by two in vivo imaging techniques (i.e., in vivo imaging system [IVIS] and intravital microscopy [IVM]) followed by motor test (rotarod) and several histological and immunohistochemical techniques.
