ACE2 is expressed in TH positive neurons of the main olfactory bulb (MOB). A) Low magnification photomicrograph of a DAB developed immunoreaction against ACE2 in the olfactory bulb region at the lateral 1.4 mm coordinate. The highest expression of ACE2 was found in the glomerular layer (MOBgl). Panels B and C show low-power confocal photomicrographs of sections double-labeled against ACE2 and calretinin (CR, panel B) or tyrosine hydroxylase (TH, panel C). High-power photomicrographs of the squared regions labeled as B1 and C1 are shown in the lower panels. ACE2 positive neurons were negative for CR (panel B1s) in the glomerular layer but positive for TH (panel C1s).
