Immunohistochemical staining was recognised as dark-brown membranous or cytoplasmic immunostaining without any considerable staining in cell nuclei. Tumours were classified based on the histological type: (A) normal colon tissue, (B) colon tubular adenoma, (C) colon adenocarcinoma, (D) mucinous adenocarcinoma, (E) metastatic adenocarcinoma from the colon, (F) metastatic mucinous adenocarcinoma and (G) metastatic signet-ring cell carcinoma.
