Iron deprivation drives the immunosuppressive function of macrophages. A, B CFSE-labeled murine spleen CD4+ and CD8+ T cells were co-cultured with BMDMs and PMs treated as described at a ratio of 1:2 for 3 days, and the fluorescence of CSFE was measured by FACS. The proliferation rate of T cells was determined as the proportion of cells with reduced CFSE intensity due to cell division.
