Experimental paradigm for assaying the implicit process to an imposed visual perturbation. The target locations for the mirror task were chosen to maintain a 45° perturbation (±22.5° from the mirror axis). Participants indicate their intended movement direction (re-aiming) by tapping on the aiming ring, which is shown here in blue. They then use the right hand to reach for the location that they think will bring the cursor to the target (ostensibly the re-aimed location). Any learning not accounted for by explicit re-aiming is presumed to be the implicit process.
