The upstream region within the NUPR1 promoter is partially responsible for induction of NUPR1. Constructs pNUPR308 containing the full-length NUPR1 promoter, pNUPR309 containing the NUPR1 promoter with the upstream most 299 base pairs deleted, and pNUPR_JUN with the JUN binding site deleted driving the luciferase gene.
