Puerarin inhibits inflammatory cytokine-induced nerve cell apoptosis in vitro. Following exposure of the nerve cells to IL-1β (10 ng/mL) and TNF-α (50 ng/mL) or puerarin (100 μM), the induction of cell apoptosis was analyzed using TUNEL staining (A and B); cleaved-caspase-3 levels were measured using Western blot analysis.
